    Dear concerned:

What i’m about to tell you may be shocking.

The chance of getting infected by an insurance card is very low, even though it is dirty. But, that is a possibility. A possibility so low that you may have a better chance of winning the mega million 10 times in a row.

If your fear have become so great that you feel your life is in imminent danger from touching this, see a mental doctor. (i was just as paranoid)

If blood or other bodily flood was on that card, you have approximately 24 to 36 hours (more or less) to get yourself a shot to reverse the infection.

After that time, you have entered the window period (fear period). Hiv and aids have a short period in which blood tests will not show. What can you do? Donate blood or wait through the fear period. Please do not donate if you know something is really wrong.

HIV can not transfer through touch. It is not as dangerous as the swine flu that may kill you so fast you have no fear period. There’s more things in life to be afraid of that hiv. Like that strange neighbor that lives next door? Traffic and crazy people.

If you world in an environment such as the medical office or other that deal with patients, wear a pair of latex glove. Do not shake hands with just anyone. There are diseases that can transfer by touch. Other than dirty, there is the fact that you don’t know where those hands have been.

    Best wishes

odds are 99%++ that you are OK. unless there was fresh blood on there that you didn’t see then you couldn’t have gotten it. even if there was fresh blood it is unlikely. If your cut wasn’t open and was closed then it would be virtually impossible even if there was blood on there. relax, and be grateful that you don’t have HIV like that poor guy.

HIV is transferred mostly through blood, semen, vaginal fluid and breast milk. It is possible to contract it through sweat, tears, urine and saliva. While the chances of you contracting it from your customer is slim (think about how many people each day we are in contact with who might have HIV), it might put your mind at ease to at least speak to your doctor about it.

The source might give you a few extra details. Hope that helps – good luck. :)

No you cannot get HIV from handeling his insurance card. Short of if he was bleeding on the card and then you touched the blood with an open wound on your hand you have nothing to worry about

just by that little bit? no. If it were covered in fresh blood and you had a gaping wound, then yes. but other than that, no.

No, it can only transfer though body to body blood fluids.

Unless he was making out with the card you should be fine,
