There was no upside for Magic when he revealed his HIV status.

Back in the early ’90s when Magic made the announcement, HIV was considered a “homosexual disease” and Magic took a lot of grief because of that perception. Obviously no one deserves to get sick, but picking on homosexuals was a cruel sport related to HIV back then.

Apparently, whether through his meds or healthy lifestyle, Magic is doing extremely well. That great for him amd may suggest HIV solutions to doctors searching for a cure.

Why would anyone lie about being HIV positive nothing good would come out of it. Just a whole bunch of people feeling sorrow for you but thankful that it didn’t happen to them.

I think he still has the virus it’s just undetectable because he takes good care of himself he has the best medicine out on the market plus he probably has a team full of doctors surrounding him who specialize in HIV/AIDS treatment. After all he can afford to do all that he has money. But whatever his case maybe good for him that he is healthy and living life. AIDS is terrible thing and should never happen to anyone.

    Dear concerned:

There is a man who is infected and is now 28 year with the disease. He looks just like a normal human being. Reason? He’s a upper class man who can afford $40000 medical treatment per year. He have access to the most recent, most effect, most expensive treatment options available today. He’s able to “buy life” as he said that on his article.

Magic johnson. He’s an athelete in the first place, he’s no middle class person like us normal folks. He’s a sports legend and wealthier than most americans put together. He probably have the same treatment options as the 28 year old survivor if not better. So what is so wrong about living long?

Not all people can afford those medical options. If someone can buy life because they have money, IT IS UNFAIR. Medical companies should make money, but not so good that normal people can’t afford it. It’s just sickening to imagine that medical companies have demographics to target people with the disease, by income! So if you make less than 40k per year or have no insurance (which means almost 90% of all people), you are so ****ed.

Best we must remember, we must make the most of what we have in life. Health is never perfect. We get sick, we get better. Exercise is the best medicine as well as good habits.

    Best wishes

Sure I dont’ think at the time he came out about it that he would have unless it was a fact. When he came forward about it there was even more bad info out there about it than now, etc., so it wasn’t easy. I know of a couple of people who have been diagnosed and confirmed with HIV who now have no detectable level of HIV in their blood and do not take meds. So sure, I think he had it, but I’m not sure he has it now. But it is probably like Halle Berry’s diabetes.. she was able to become cured of it but when she tried to come out and say how it happened they shut her up and tried to discredit her even though its her body and she should know.
