Had 3 HIV tests and still worried..please help!?
Back in beginning to mid December 2008 I had unprotected sex with a co-worker.(I know, I know!) I was tested for all STD’s and HIV in second week of January, last week of March, and first week of April, all were negative. I had a cold in March, and it went away, but on Monday I noticed I was getting a sore throat. I also might have a sinus infection cause the pain is across my forehead and cheekbones. I don’t really have runny nose, just sore, scratchy throat. I also have allergies I also smoke cigarettes, but have tried to stay away while having the sore throat. Don’t have fever or flu symptoms. My co-worker never told me he was married, and recently said his wife just found out she was pregnant. He said she was fine when tested for everything. I tested negative in April. Am I Ok? Are these hiv symptoms? Would I be getting a sore throat now 4 months later. Everyone is telling me to get over this HIV thing but I can’t in the back of my mind I’m still scared. Thanks for all who reply!!
Don’t worry you maybe just fine, you might be coming down with the flu or cold. The HIV signs take a while to show up. Go to the Dr so he can prescribe you something for a cold and just tell him your symptoms. Next time use protection and those symptoms maybe stress related.
I used to have aids real bad, but it cleared up, so I’m not using condoms any more when I have sex. I’m feeling fine now.
I think I had sex with that guys wife a few times too.
You don’t have HIV so shut the **** up.
HIV tests usually run in 3 stages.
Most people have enough antibodies (about 95%) to show positive on a test after one month after exposure. 3 months is 100% conclusive and accurate test.
6 months is needed for those people with a abnormally suppressed immune system, organ transplants, cancer treatment etc. Your symptoms do not match up with what people with HIV have reported.
Basically this is my answer.
Your test in April was well past the area of a conclusive test. You do not have HIV.
I hope this helps
